Beautiful piece of software. As a developer, I really appreciate the open-source nature and the visual automation approach instead of fragile API scraping. Cleared 950 videos from my Watch Later without any issues. The fact that it's desktop-based means I know exactly what it's doing and it's not sending data anywhere. This is how tools should be built.
I've been looking for something like this since YouTube killed the clear all button. What I appreciate most is how straightforward it is - no complicated setup, no giving away my Google password to some random website. Just download, run, and point it at what you want to clean. Used it on my SoundCloud likes too and it handled that perfectly. The UI is minimal but that's fine since the tool is so focused. Saved me literally hours of mindless clicking! 👏
The visual automation concept is genius. Instead of relying on YouTube's API which they could change anytime, it just simulates clicks. I had 1,247 videos in my Watch Later (yes, I counted) and this cleared them in about 35 minutes. Would love to see a speed adjustment feature in future updates, and maybe an option to keep the most recent X videos while deleting the rest. Also, a progress counter would be nice so you know how much is left. But honestly, for a free open-source tool, this is already fantastic. 🎯
35 minutes for 1,247 videos is actually super fast. That's like 1.7 seconds per video. Was your internet connection particularly fast or did you do anything special to speed it up?
The API independence is smart future-proofing. I've used tools before that broke when YouTube changed their API endpoints. Visual automation just needs the buttons to exist in roughly the same place.
Speed adjustment would be nice for people with slower connections. Also the idea of keeping recent X videos is practical - like keep the last 50, delete everything else. That would prevent accidentally wiping stuff you just added.
Pretty good automation tool but had some hiccups. Used it to clean my 600+ video Watch Later list and it worked for about 400 videos before YouTube's page layout shifted slightly and it got confused. Had to restart it, but then it finished the rest fine. I think this is just the nature of visual automation - websites change dynamically. Still way better than clicking manually. Just be prepared to babysit it occasionally if you have a huge list.
Does the job well for clearing playlists. I had around 200 videos in Watch Later and it handled them without issues. The speed is a bit slow - takes a couple seconds per video - but I understand that's probably necessary for reliable detection. Would be cool if there was a faster mode for people willing to risk occasional misclicks. Overall though, for a free tool that doesn't need my login credentials, I'm happy with it.
This tool literally saved me hours of tedious work! 🎉 I had over 1,000 videos cluttering my Watch Later - a mix of tutorials, music, and random stuff I saved over 3 years. I tried manually deleting them in batches but gave up after 50. Playlist Wiper handled the entire backlog overnight while I slept. The fact that it's a macro recorder is perfect because I didn't have to worry about giving it access to my Google account. I also tested it on clearing out old Gmail promotional emails and it worked beautifully there too. My only wish would be selective deletion - like keep videos from specific channels or videos added in the last month. And maybe a log file showing what was removed? But honestly, for what it does, it's absolutely perfect. Highly recommend to anyone drowning in digital clutter! 🙌✨
1,000 videos overnight is wild! Did you just leave your computer running with the browser open? I'm curious about power usage for something like this running for hours.
Using it for Gmail is creative! I didn't even think about applying it to other Google services. Does it work well with other sites too or is it specifically tuned for YouTube?
Three years of backlog cleared while you sleep is the dream. I'm at about 18 months of Watch Later videos and it's genuinely stressful looking at that list. Definitely trying this tonight.
Solid utility for playlist cleanup. The visual automation method is more reliable than I expected - it adapts when the page updates after each deletion. Cleared about 350 videos from my Watch Later with minimal supervision. Only downside is it's desktop-only, so you can't run it from a phone or Chromebook. But for what it is, it's well-executed and free.
It works, but it's not perfect. I used it to clear around 400 Watch Later videos and while it eventually got through them, it felt slower than I hoped - probably 2-3 seconds per video. The interface is pretty bare-bones, which is fine for a utility tool, but a progress bar or remaining count would make the experience better. Also ran into an issue where it got stuck twice and I had to manually restart it. I appreciate that it's free and open-source, and the no-login security model is smart. Just needs some polish. For patient users with massive backlogs, it beats manual deletion, but don't expect a super smooth experience.
2-3 seconds per video actually sounds about right for macro automation. I wonder if the speed varies based on your internet connection or computer specs? The no-login thing is definitely the selling point for me though.
Progress bar would be huge. When you're clearing hundreds of videos, you really want to know if it's going to take 20 minutes or 2 hours. Did it at least show any activity in the console or anything?
This is such a clever solution to YouTube removing the bulk delete option. I'd been manually clicking through hundreds of videos for weeks. Playlist Wiper automated the whole thing and I didn't have to give it any permissions or credentials. The fact that it also works on Gmail and SoundCloud is a nice bonus - I actually used it to clean up an old Gmail label with 300+ emails. Simple, effective, and respects your privacy.
Really solid tool that does exactly what it promises. I used it to clear out about 500 Watch Later videos and it worked smoothly. The macro recorder is smart enough to handle the page reloading as videos get removed. Only issue I had was it occasionally lost track when YouTube's UI lagged, so I had to restart it once. Not a deal-breaker though. Would give 5 stars if it had a pause/resume function for longer cleanup sessions.
Agreed on the UI lag issue. YouTube's interface can be pretty janky sometimes, especially if you have a lot of extensions running. Did you notice if closing other tabs helped at all?
Thanks for the feedback! The pause/resume feature is actually on the roadmap - it's been requested a few times now. For the UI lag issue, I'd recommend making sure YouTube is loaded completely before starting, and closing other heavy tabs can help. The macro needs a stable DOM to track elements properly. Appreciate the honest review!
